With increasing age, biological changes occur that also affect the appearance of the face. The basic problem lies in the gradual sagging of the skin and facial muscles, which are pulled downwards by gravity. The result of this process is a sagging and tired-looking face without clear contours. This process is most visible on the neck, lower jaw, corners of the mouth and cheeks. In the beginning, these appearances can be treated with the help of fillers and then, for example, with thread. At a certain stage, however, it is necessary to opt for a more radical solution – a mini facelift, which guarantees a long-term effect. In the lower parts of the face, the treatment can also make you look 10 years younger.
As the name suggests, a mini-lift is a procedure that does not reach the same extent as a conventional facelift. In particular, the SMAS, the connective tissue under the skin, is not pulled as much. As the entire tissue procedure is gentler, healing is also faster. The procedure can also be combined with liposuction of the chin fat. The specific technique is chosen by the plastic surgeon depending on the condition of the skin.
During the operation, the incision is made around the auricle. The incision site is chosen so that the scar is as little visible as possible after healing. The skin is then pulled out and the excess skin is cut away. In the next step, the connective tissue is pulled out and consolidated and, if necessary, the excess tissue is also removed. As soon as the surgeon has achieved the new optimal position of the skin and subcutaneous structures, the operated area is sutured. Various suture materials are used, both absorbable and non-absorbable. The operation is usually performed under local anesthesia or analgosedation. It can take up to 2 hours.

It is recommended to discontinue all medications that increase bleeding – consultation with the doctor is necessary.
If a woman wants to undergo the operation, it is advisable to stop taking contraceptive pills, which increase the risk of embolism up to 4 times (it is advisable to stop taking them at least two months before the operation and must be discussed with the gynecologist beforehand).
Before the procedure, clients should not starve, should not diet and should protect themselves against infections and colds.
The operation can only be performed 2-3 months after the end of an infectious disease.
The patient should have an empty stomach before the operation – you must not eat, drink or smoke for at least 6 hours before the procedure. It is also recommended not to drink alcoholic beverages or coffee 24 hours before the procedure.
It is advisable to take a bath on the day of the procedure, not to apply any body lotions or creams, not to wear make-up and not to paint your nails (on hands and feet).
