Liposuction yields the best results for individuals with a moderate weight who need to address fat accumulation in areas where exercises or diets are ineffective. The natural firmness and elasticity of the skin play a significant role in how the suctioned area will look after the procedure. If the skin has significantly lost its elasticity, it is advisable to also undergo skin tightening with Argo Plasma during the operation to achieve the best appearance.
Certain areas of the body are completely unsuitable for liposuction, and the procedure is never performed there. This includes the lower half of the buttocks, where sagging skin would occur. Other areas are not strictly prohibited, but liposuction is also not recommended due to the risk of unevenness, such as in the back area.
The procedure is performed under local or general anesthesia, depending on the area being treated. Approximately three incisions, each about 4-5 mm long, are made at each suctioned site. The incision locations are chosen to be as inconspicuous as possible after healing, typically along natural body creases or in areas covered by underwear.
A two-way cannula with a blunt tip is inserted into the created openings, delivering a water jet that gently separates fat cells from the tissue. The cannula is also connected to a pump that creates suction, allowing the released fat to be collected in containers. Since the fat cells are harvested in this gentle manner, they remain undamaged and are suitable for further use in areas where additional fat volume is desired, known as fat transfer.
To ensure even fat removal, the doctor shapes the selected area using fan-like motions. Immediately after the procedure, the treated areas are compressed with elastic garments.
The results of the surgery are evaluated after at least 3 months, once the swelling has subsided. The final results can be expected between 6 to 12 months.
Outer thighs are a typical female fat storage area. It doesn’t necessarily depend on overall weight, as even relatively slim women can store fat in these areas. The goal of the procedure is not to remove as much fat as possible, but just enough to create the most natural silhouette with the rest of the body, typically removing about a third of the fat.
Great emphasis is placed on creating a smooth transition between the suctioned area and its surroundings. To meet the high aesthetic standards of clients, it is often necessary to perform liposuction on the hips in conjunction with the outer thighs for better proportionality.
Liposuction of the inner thighs is much more common among women, often not just for aesthetic reasons but also to alleviate the discomfort caused by the thighs rubbing against each other. For symmetry, liposuction of the inner knees is often performed simultaneously. During the procedure, the surgeon focuses on ensuring that no irregularities or lumps develop in the tissue post-surgery.
To achieve a smooth thigh contour, a microcannula is used, which allows for the even removal of fat in smaller volumes. This enables very precise work. Occasionally, men may also request liposuction for the upper part of the inner thighs.
The procedure of the buttocks can enhance their appearance and size while achieving perfect symmetry. Similar to the outer thighs, no more than a third of the total fat volume is removed. Fat is never taken from the lower half of the buttocks, particularly from the skin fold between the buttocks and thighs, as this poses too great a risk of sagging skin and permanent deformity.
The doctor approaches from the sides towards the center, using a microcannula to remove fat, which helps prevent the formation of lumps. This method is crucial for achieving a smooth, rounded shape of the buttocks.
Before the procedure, the patient undergoes standard preoperative examinations. The requirements for these examinations depend on the age of the person being operated on. Basic assessments include EKG, chest X-ray, laboratory tests, and some additional evaluations. Specific instructions will be provided to the candidate by the doctor conducting the consultation. There must be at least 2–3 months since the last infectious illness.
It is essential to discontinue all medications that increase bleeding risk. It is advisable to stop taking birth control pills two months before the procedure, as they can increase the risk of embolism by up to four times. Alcohol should not be consumed the day before the procedure.
Patients should refrain from smoking for at least one month before the surgery and for a minimum of two weeks afterward, as smoking impairs healing. They must not eat or drink anything for six hours before the operation.
On the day of the procedure, it is advisable to shower, avoid makeup, and remove nail polish from both hands and feet.
After a more extensive surgery, an overnight stay in a healthcare facility is necessary. A mild stinging pain may be felt, and analgesics can be used to alleviate discomfort at home for 2–3 days.
During the first 14 days, strict limitations on physical activity are required to prevent unexpected bleeding and tension on the incisions. Returning to work is recommended after 7–14 days.
Temporary skin sensitivity or asymmetry may occur due to residual fluid that was introduced into the body during the procedure.
